KIDS ARE BACK FROM MOMS AND GIZMO IS HAPPY

I went and picked up Amber and Jacob from my Mom's house this morning. It's good to have them back, even though they look like they have grown since a week and half ago. Was beginning to think that they had decided to move in with her. When they are gone our cat Gizmo, hardly eats, he just lies around, well they walk in the door and he goes berserk. He let them hold him and love on him till he got tired. I looked and he was eating like there was tomorrow, he emptied his food bowl. Now he is playing chase with Jacob through the house. OH ITS SO GOOD TO HAVE THEM HOME AGAIN.

 SCHOOL HAS RETURNED

I cannot believe how quick this summer has gone by. Soon school will be starting matter of fact August 7th is the first day back for my two kids. Jacob is going into the 9th grade and he will be Cadet Private J in JROTC. He is so excited about this, he is thinking of joining the Navy,(now that is if he hasn't changed his mind for the 1,000th time). Amber is going into the 7th grade. It is hard for me to see the kids growing so fast, especially when you remember when they were babies and they needed you for everything. Now they can do for themselves and its hard on me to let them do it. So it's off to buy school supplies and supplies for their homerooms. Just thinking how much school has changed since I went. I graduated in 1977. And by the looks of things it has changed quite a bit. Oh well, life goes on and on and on and on

 MY DRIVERS LICENSE AND MOM

It took me forever to pass the written test for my driver's license, I failed it so many times, that when I did pass it, I was give out and didn't want the driving part of the test. One day Mom came to the school and checked us out of school. But instead of going home, Mom took me to take the driving part of the test. I was so at her for that. I go in and did what I had to do and the people assigned a State Trooper to me. He told my Mom to go get the car, He asked me to stand beside the door and he was waiting to inspect the car. My mom had a Ford Fairmont station wagon, a little yellow one, and she came driving up to the station where the State Trooper was standing, when all of a sudden she ran over the curb the State Trooper was nice though he just shook his head, needless to say Mom was I was standing there this is not going to be good.
After what seemed to be and eternity waiting, he asked me to get in the car. I drove around and did exactly what he told me, I passed and got my license was scared that he was going to flunk me because of Mom driving over the curb. I look back on that and laugh, because soon now my son is going to be getting his license and I am so thinking of sending my Mom with him to take his driving part of the test

GARDEN OF THE GOD'S AND MOM

In Colorado, there is a place called Garden of the God's, it's a beautiful place full of different rock formations. Dad decided to stay at the camp site to rest and get over being with us for laughing at him for saying Peaks Pike. So all the females loaded up in the station wagon and headed out, it was still early enough for us to go see this place. Well we travel along at a good pace and we get out and walk through some of the formations, oh it's hard to describe how beautiful it really was there. Well we come to the end of the road through there and we all climb out and go into the gift shop, we stroll through there and look at all the different things for sale. We stood and watched a dog climb the rocks with his owner, then we load up to go back to the camp ground for supper. Mom puts the car in gear, and we went forward, almost over the curb, down a drop off into a ravine Ok Mom, we have no clue why she did that, but we didn't laugh For some reason she put the car in drive instead of reverse, talk about a way to end up our trip through the Garden of the God's. Whewwwwwwwwww Mom, good thing that curb was there

 Road Trip To Pikes Peak

Ok I know some or all of you have had a adventure on the road. Well this trip turned out to be one of the best we ever had. My poor Dad was the only male in the car. There was 6 females and then there was my Dad. We camped on the way, Dad and Mom slept in the back of the station wagon while the rest of us got the camper. We seen alot of beautiful sights on the way to Pikes Peak. We made that trip, with friends of ours, my friend Susan was a girl I met in second grade and we became friends and stayed that way till today. We are the same age, my sister took a friend also, Mom's friend from work went with us. We made it to Colorado and we got lost, because Dad didn't know how to take instructions too well. Well he finally pulled over on a side road, now those of you that has had camper's, you know it's not easy to turn around. Well my Dad spot's a meter reader for the gas company, he pulls up beside him and asked him, could he please tell him how to get to PEAKS PIKE, We all knew not to laugh, because he said it wrong, he was already aggravated for getting lost . All of us ducked our heads, so not to laugh, when all of a sudden we heard a snicker come from the front seat of the car, Mom had her hand over her mouth and she was laughing so hard Well again folk's I cannot repeat what Dad said(you know why, MOM reads the blog). My Dad looked

Well now Mom if you hadn't of snickered none of us would have cracked up laughing . so my
Dad pulls over and tell's my Mom if you think you can do better you drive. Well needless to say we got there, after Mom almost took the car up Pikes Peak herself. One event after the other happened on that trip, but it was to PEAKS PIKE OR BUST.
