Last week, we studied the words, HAD, BUT, HOT, AT, IN, RED, MONDAY and JULY. This was going to be Amber's first spelling test These are challenges she faces day by day and she was afraid she wouldn't do good on the test. Well that little lady made a 92 on that test Friday, Jacob is now Staff SGT. in his unit in ROTC, not sure what that means, but it must be good, because he came in from ear to ear. I am very proud of Amber and Jacob, especially knowing the challenges both of them have, especially Amber. Jacob has challenges too and right now he is having a big time challenge of learning to be in control of other people, he's not sure he can do that, because he don't like yelling at people, that makes him feel bad, I told him to act like they were his sister, he doesn't seem to have a problem yelling at her He said yeah right Mom, I am sure my unit will love me calling them doofus all the time, well now lets see, if you want to be an officer in the military, I guess you best get with it then | | Posted by sherry at 11:02 PM -

I hate nightmares, good dreams I can take, but nightmares are the worse. I have had a dream of my family was out shopping and a man drove a truck through the building and started shooting, my son yelled out that he was hit, when I looked at him, he was shot in the back, the man was looking for anyone he could to shoot, we had to run for cover and try to get help for our son. Then it changes to where I am standing on the banks of a river and I looked up at the bridge above me and I realize that part of it was missing and cars and trucks was going off the end, I am not that good of a swimmer, so I hate bridges anyways. I dive in to help those people in the car and the one I pull out of the river was my sister, she was hurt but ok, it took me a few minutes to realize it was her, she was on the way to my Mom's house to visit, I watch as others join in to help, it came about due to construction on a road underneath the bridge. Now as far as I know, the bridges that is on the way to my Mom's home is not under any construction. So why do we have such dreams and what does it mean? Well in my book I can do without these kind of dreams . Would rather have nice dreams anytime I still have no clue what happened I was awakened by the phone ringing. | | Posted by sherry at 2:22 PM -

Well this will be the first full week of school for the kids. Jacob came in yesterday tired and sweaty, they have begun to learn how to march in ROTC. He was grinning from ear to ear when he came through the door, he looked at me and said "I got ranked today", he looked at me and said, I made Squad Commander, and that is usually a 11th grade position(he is a 9th grader). Well needless to say, I am very proud of him, now he can go boss some other kids and quit bossing his sister Now Amber's turn to tell about her time, she started art class today, her teacher is the coach of the golf team at her school. His name is Coach Jones. He is a very nice man, but can be tough if he has to be tough. Now you have to remember Amber has a learning disability, so she came in yesterday with her first picture they done, it was of our house and the family, she lettered each person with the first letter of their name and when it came to mine, she had S on it, I asked her Amber how come mine has S and your Daddy's has D, she said because your name is Sherry and Daddy's is daddy, now how come I didn't figure that one out myself. So we have survived three days of school, I just we survive the rest of the school year. | | Posted by sherry at 3:45 AM -

Amber and Jacob made it through their first day of school. Minus the fact that Amber had to go to the school nurse, because she couldn't breathe, which tells me those bats was really acting up this morning. Jacob found his classes with no problem, just had a few minor distrations, such as a bright red mohawk, a teacher with a mullet down to his bottom and a lot of the kids is still dressing in the goth look. He found the cafeteria, and was last in line, and had only 4 minutes to eat his lunch. Had to tell him to walk faster tomorrow and see where he ends up. He was going to take a shortcut back to class which involved walking outside and guess what, he got soaked because just as he left the cafeteria, it poured down rain His Dad stopped this morning to get him a Mt. Dew and the boy forgot it in the front seat of the car, he said that was ok, because he forgot to go on break . Oh well I guess he will survive it. Looks like this is going to be a very interesting year | | Posted by sherry at 9:57 PM -

Today is the first day of school, Amber say's she has bats in her stomach, I told her no it was butterflies, she said no Mom, it's bats. Neither one of us could eat breakfast early, we are use to eating later in the morning. Jacob was up and dressed in no time flat, he was excited about starting high school. I think it's more he is excited about JROTC. Now they are gone and it is so quiet here, I can actually here myself think . Between the hugs and kisses by, even poor Gizmo got hugs and kisses, poor cat ran and hid . I had instructions, that if I needed anything to call the school office and they would page Amber to come to the phone . I just pray that they will survive the first day back. | | Posted by sherry at 8:46 AM -
