 Decoration Day

It was Decoration day, where my dad and granddad is buried. My dad used to sit under the tent to raise money to help maintain the cemetary. For those of you that dont know what it is, we clean the cemetary and place fresh flowers on the graves of our loved ones that has passed on. My mom bought some beautiful blue flowers for my dads grave, my dad has been gone for over 6 years now and its still hard for me to go there. My grandfather is also buried there along with other relatives through out the cemetary. One day it will be the responsibility of my sister and I to take care of the grave site, but I pray that my mom will be here for a long long time.My son Jacob used to sit under the tent with his Poppy(my dad) during this time and take the money up. He still loves it, but it is now more for my dads memory than anything else.

 My Sister in law

My sister in law is my husbands youngest sister. One year ago he lost his mom and about three months later lost his dad all in the same year. He lost a sister about 8 years ago, We just learned that she will be leaving to serve in Iraq for a year, she will be leaving in August. This is the first time we have actually known someone that will be serving there. If someone could please tell me how you deal with this please let me know, We pray for our soldiers every day and night for their safety, now it has hit a little to close to home for us. God Bless our Soldiers

 My Dad

My Dad was a strong man, he was a gentle man too. He loved to fish, go to the mountains and he would do anything he could for his two girls. I being the oldest of the two, he called me sis and he called my sister chipmunk. He bought us our first car and he made sure we had what we needed along with our mom. He worked two or three jobs to help with the things that we had to have, as so as our mom worked. He was working at a gas station part time and he called to ask us what we wanted for lunch, we asked for Burger King, but in the mean time my sister and I got hungry. so we fixed us some sandwiches, little did we know after we ate, that he would show up with the hamburgers we ordered. Needless to say we got sick, because we didnt want him to get mad so we ate them. Then there was the one time he was working and a car backfired and we thought we had been shot at, it didnt take him long to get home and we was huddled in the hall way scared to death. He laughed when he realzied it had been a car backfired. My Dad is gone to be with the Lord now and has been for awhile now, I would love to be able to hug him one more time and tell him how much I love him and miss him, one day I will tell about our fishing trips we took, some adventure we had on those. Love you Dad

 My Son the Builder

My son has been busy all morning building a cat house out of a box that a swimming pool came in. I come into the living room and there is box piecies every where. This house has got windows and a doors for the cat to go into and out of. When I looked into the box, the cat was laying there asleep. Now my son has added air conditioning to this cardboard house. He has a tube running from the floor vent to the box so air can go through it so the cat will not get hot. Now he wants a patent for his cat house.

 My Son

My son is 13 going on 35. Hes smart and sweet and cute as a button. He has appointed hisself my caretaker with his sister as long as I am sick. He makes sure he gives Amber her seizure medicine and makes sure she eats. He also brings me lunch if I am not able to sit up. This child is so special, but lets not tell him that, that head might swell to a enormous size. Hes full of things, such as a sense of humor, loving, kindness. He even calls his GanGan two or three times a week to make sure she is doing alright. Since his Poppy died, he really watches out for all of us. Love you Jacob so very much.
