 Daddy

My dad was a die hard wrestling fan and a part time fisherman. He drove a 18 wheeler up until he had a major heart attack that just about took his life. The drs didnt want to operate on him, but they did, they told us he had about a year, that man lived 7 years more than they expected. I was pregnant with our first child, and we knew it was a boy, we named him Jacob, this was the first of 4 grandchildren of my parents. The day Jacob was born was wild. First off, I didnt realize I was in labor, secondly, no one believed that I was in labor, When we called my dad and told him, he immediately called my mom, when she arrived home from her job, he was waiting on her at the door with a plate full of food, they hopped into their van and headed to the hospital. We live about a hour and fourty five minutes from them, he took a back road to get to the hospital. My poor mom was trying to eat on one of the most curveous road around here. But they made it, After Jacob was born, my dad called him Jake, the bond grew between these two, that you could actually see that bond tie them together. We believe that Jacob was sent here to give enjoyment for all. He has my dads sense of humor(just like his mom) he looks like my moms brothers, he is a mixture that is for sure. My dad would call the house every day wanting to talk to his boy. We would come home from grocery shopping or drs appointments and find my daddy sitting out in the van, he had come to get his boy to take home, When Jacob turned 6 weeks old, he was a traveling little boy, I think for a little bit, daddy would have kept him permanently. My daddy passed away 12 days after Jacob turned 8 years old, and the day we buried daddy, Jacob sat next to that grave and wouldnt budge, it took all we had to get him to move. That is how close they were. One thing for sure, He loved his Poppy.

 Squashing The Duck

Ok I know that you know what the duck is, its a vehicle that can go on water or land. Well while my family and I was vacationing in TN, we rode the Duck on the river. While boarding this vehicle I was not watching where I was going, I did not see the step down into the vehicle. So when I started on the vehicle I stepped down and fell in between two seats, now mind you there was about 10 more people waiting to board, I scared my Mom and family by doing this silly thing. They thought I had another heart attack, I suffered one back in 2000. The man that was operating this vehicle came aboard to make sure I was alright, I was embarrassed more than hurt so I thought. The next day I could hardly move a muscle. My husband went to Wal-Mart and got some Advil to help ease my pain. We now joke about me squashing the duck, and what was really funny, when wewas leaving this vehicle, my husband tripped down the steps coming off the duck, Are we clumsy or what?

 ATTACK OF THE CEMENT ELEPHANT

A few years ago, my family took a trip to Chattanooga TN, we had gone to Rock City, and other sight seeing places there. On our last full day there we took the kids to play putt putt golf. On about the 5th or 6th hole my son hit the ball and it went into the water trap, as he was reaching in to get it, he slid and snagged his shirt on a cement elephant that was sitting beside the water trap, he fell so hard that it pulled the elephant from its stand and both fell into the water trap, the water was about a inch high and he thought he was drowning, his grandmother and I had to sit down from laughing so hard, we couldnt even play. So now we see any elephant, whether being on a sign or tv we start yelling for him to run. Those elephants can be dangerous

 Watching Wrestling With Daddy

My Daddy was a huge wrestling fan. He would watch it knowing he would tear his fingernails down to the quick. I use to watch it with him, (told ya that I was a daddys girl). They only thing I could tell you is never sit any where near him when wrestling was on. He called me Sis from as far back as I can remember. His favorite wrestler at that time was Bob the Bullit Armstrong, when he came on to the music Bad To the Bone my dad would reach over and hit my arm and say here comes a good one sis, just watch this. And he would talk to the tv as if he was there in person. One night he got to go to the local tv station where they taped the wrestling matches. He was so excited, there was this one wrestler called Tojo, and daddy wasnt a big fan of his, but he sat there and watched this, When he got home his fingers on his hand was swollen, when Mom asked him what happened one of the wrestlers had walked to close to daddy and daddy hit him in the jaw and it jammed his fingers, Im shocked that this man didnt take daddy down, but daddy said it was slamming his hand into a brick wall. I later learned to like wrestling a little more, But even when the drs told daddy not to watch the wrestling because it excited him too much, this was after daddy had his major heart attack, he still watched it anyways and now my son watches it and it brings back those nights I could hear my daddy say watch this sis, this is going to be a good one, my son now says watch this mom, this wrestler is good, its going to be a short match. Love you daddy, hope they have wrestling in heaven for you to watch.
