NIght to Meet the High School

Jacob went to the high school tonight to meet with his teachers and see where his rooms are. He is so excited about JROTC. He will be marching in parades, doing drills, rifle training not sure about that one. My son has cracked jokes all day about being a Gomer Pyle in the JROTC. I told him that I believed in him and I know he can do it without tripping over air I told him when he marches in the Homecoming Parade for the school that I was going to get a bullhorn and when he comes around the curve in the road, I was going to yell out, "THERE'S MY BOOBOO, I'M SO PROUD", If I did that Jacob would be so I guess I better not do that. Amber is getting excited about being in the 7th grade, she had Ms. Largin last year, and she will have her this year, so she will just have to get use to going to school once again, she is not too happy about summer coming to and end

 IN MEMORY OF MY DAD

Today 6 years ago, I lost my beloved Father. He was a wonderful man, he loved my sister and I unconditionly. No matter what we did, we knew was loved by him and our Mom. Daddy would work two job's just to help get the things we needed. Daddy was a local truck drver until he had to medically retire from a major heart attack. I spent many a Saturday on the river with him fishing for Bream or Crappie. He died with my Mom by his side, I didn't make it to the hospital before he died, so I didn't get to say goodbye to him. My heart aches sometimes just to hear him say 'HEY SIS, WHERE'S MY BOY"(GRANDSON JACOB). Or when he would call and report the bad weather and tell us to get to shelter. I remember telling him when I was expecting Jacob, he was so excited, first grandson on the way. I was around 6 or 7 months pregnant when he had to have major heart surgery, I was standing by his gurney and I placed his hand on my stomach and told him he had to live so he could see his grandson born, about that time Jacob kicked my daddy's hand clean off my stomach. I knew then that daddy was going to make it, due to Jacob kicking him Daddy we miss you very much and we love you and think of you daily.

 AMBER SCARES JACOB AND ME

A few weeks ago, Jacob and I was in the master bedroom watching television. The lights was flickering off and on, suddenly, the lights went off. Jacob reached under the bed for his knife and eased up, we heard metal scraping on metal Husband was snoring and never noticed the power had gone off. Jacob eased toward the bedroom door to get the flashlight, all of sudden we was caught like deer in the headlights A huge ray of light was moving toward the bedroom door Needless to say neither one of us could scream We heard this small voice from behind that huge ray of light, saying "its just me Amber". Well after our dropped out of our bodies, we started laughing at ourselves Well I know that one of us had to go to the bathroom after that and I will not tell who that person was. But Amber please let us know that you are coming way before you get there.

KIDS ARE BACK FROM MOMS AND GIZMO IS HAPPY

I went and picked up Amber and Jacob from my Mom's house this morning. It's good to have them back, even though they look like they have grown since a week and half ago. Was beginning to think that they had decided to move in with her. When they are gone our cat Gizmo, hardly eats, he just lies around, well they walk in the door and he goes berserk. He let them hold him and love on him till he got tired. I looked and he was eating like there was tomorrow, he emptied his food bowl. Now he is playing chase with Jacob through the house. OH ITS SO GOOD TO HAVE THEM HOME AGAIN.

 SCHOOL HAS RETURNED

I cannot believe how quick this summer has gone by. Soon school will be starting matter of fact August 7th is the first day back for my two kids. Jacob is going into the 9th grade and he will be Cadet Private J in JROTC. He is so excited about this, he is thinking of joining the Navy,(now that is if he hasn't changed his mind for the 1,000th time). Amber is going into the 7th grade. It is hard for me to see the kids growing so fast, especially when you remember when they were babies and they needed you for everything. Now they can do for themselves and its hard on me to let them do it. So it's off to buy school supplies and supplies for their homerooms. Just thinking how much school has changed since I went. I graduated in 1977. And by the looks of things it has changed quite a bit. Oh well, life goes on and on and on and on
