 Rainbow Trout and Mom

My Mom is leaving with the kids to the Smokey Mountains for a few days, they are going to Maggie Valley North Carolina. I remember and incident with my Mom while we was vacationing in the Cherokee, North Carolina. We went to this resturant overlooking the river and my Mom decided at this time to try the rainbow trout . Well it took forever for them to bring it out, we swore up and down that they went out back and caught it right out of the river . Well her plate arrived with the trout on it, and as she began to eat, everytime she would poke the trout its mouth would open and shut . See what happened was, we didnt know that they cooked it whole and served it up . My Mom has never ordered rainbow trout again [[EMOTICON:ROFL1]. Sorry Mom, but I had to write about this, it was so funny

 Happy Birthday Son.

Today Jacob turns 15, I can't bellieve how time has flown. I took him for his learners permit, and he passed with flying colors. He took over driving from that point on, amazingly, he didnt scare me at all, minus the trip over the speed table, the fishtailing on a gravel road and the trip over the train tracks that nearly put my head through the roof of the car, of course I needed a sunroof anyways . At 7:35pm he came into this world ready to travel and do things. I can thank my dad and his Poppy for his learning to drive in the first place. Jacob, I love you son with all my heart and I am so very proud of you for all that you have accomplished in your 15 years, May GOD bless you and keep you always in his safe arms. Happy 15th Birthday

 Lunch at Cracker Barrel

Yesterday, Mike and the kids and I met my mom at Cracker Barrel for lunch. Mom called and said she wanted to buy lunch for us for our birthdays, I celebrated 50 years of living on Sunday June 21st. We had to wait a few minutes until they got two tables pushed together so we could sit down and order. Well, that took altogether about 10 minutes to order. Mom's tea tasted funny so she had to order a new glass, I really believe it was getting to the bottom of the pot . We really enjoyed sitting there talking about things that happened years ago, laughing at the silly stuff, we also discovered the our time capsules is our movies that we have made over the years. Time has moved on for us, and watching the movies of the kids when they were little really showed it. We went outside and sat in the rockers to open our birthday presents, which lunch was good enough for me. Mom gave me a pair of blue jean shorts and a beautiful green shirt. Mike got a shirt and some poket t's. Thanks again Mom for the lunch and gifts, and by the way the bday card, was just like me. Love you Mom. Have a great day everyone and May God Bless you

 WOW 50 Years Old

Today I turn 50 years old and I can't believe it. I am still here to tell the tale. I have been through alot this year, with bypass surgery on my leg and all the testing that I have been through to make sure everything is working right. I give God all the glory for bringing me through all of this. Today is Fathers day also, and my dad is in heaven . I don't feel older at all, but I know 50 is just a number, thanks to my sister who reminded me of that. So to all the dads out there, have a great Fathers Day and celebrate life to the fullest. Oh by the way Mom if you happen to read this, thanks for giving me life 50 years ago and not killing me when I gave you such a hard time. Have a great day everyone. I am celebrating 50 years of living, and thank you Lord for taking such good care of me when I needed you the most I almost forgot, HAPPY FATHERS DAY DADDY IN HEAVEN

 Jacob's Golf Adventure

Today I took Jacob to learn how to tee off and how to drive a ball to the green. Well it started off in me getting a lesson in how to drive a golf cart, which was funny to begin with. I have never driven a cart before so I had to learn how to make it go, which was jerk and go and jerk and go for a few feet. We get to the driving range in one piece and Jacob takes off with clubs and a bucket of balls. He missed the first few time but the more he tried the better he got, at least he didnt splice or chip it too much . After spending about 2 hours doing this I decided to see if I could drive the ball down the fairway , Well lets just say golf is not my sport. I take Jacob for a ride in the golf cart around the course, they need to mark the trail with arrows, I went the wrong way and had to turn around and come back out the same way I went in . I really enjoyed watching my son learn something new .
